  Purging Files

You acquire another version of a file each time you modify it.
If you find yourself with multiple versions of a file, you can
delete all but the latest version by using the Purge command.
Purging your directory makes room on your disk for other
  files.

To purge one or more files:

  1. Select the files you want to purge.

  2. Choose the ellipsis (...) next to the Purge command on
FileView's Commands menu. FileView display the Purge
      dialog box.

  3. Click on the OK button.
