  Comparing the Contents of Files

Use the Compare command to determine the differences
between two files. To compare the contents of two files:

  1. Select the first file you want to compare.

  2. Choose the ellipsis (...) next to the Compare command
on FileView's Commands menu. FileView displays the
      Compare dialog box.

  3. Type in the name of the second file in the To entry field.

  4. Click on the OK button.

The task list box reports that the files are being compared.
The Show File task output window opens, displaying all
lines in the files you specified that do not match.

By default, FileView compares the file to the previous version
of the file. To compare the selected file to a file other than
its previous version, type another file specification in the To
entry field of the Compare dialog box.
