/COMPRESS= {ON | OFF | AUTOMATIC}

    Optional. Defaults: For PPP interface, /COMPRESS=ON; for SLIP
    interface, /COMPRESS=OFF.

    Valid for SLIP and PPP interfaces.

    Enables or disables TCP header compression.

    /COMPRESS=AUTOMATIC turns off compression unless the remote end
    begins to use it.
