A foreign symbol is used to invoke MIME, for example,

    	$ MIME :== $SYS$SYSTEM:MIME.EXE

    Note that a file name can be provided as a parameter to MIME, but
    MIME opens that file for READ access only. No file modifications
    will be allowed.
