The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) was first developed by Netscape
    to secure browser-to-web-server communication channels.
OpenSSL is an industry-standard package of cryptographic
services that provides SSL and Transaction Layer Security
(TLS) protocols. Additionally, OpenSSL provides client/server
authentication, encryption, and message integrity services for
secure communications on the TCP/IP protocol.
