EVE$HELP.HLB  —  SET_BOX_SELECT
  SET BOX SELECT

Enables box editing, making SELECT, REMOVE, INSERT HERE, and other
commands or keys the same as the corresponding BOX commands.

  Example:

The following commands enable box selection, making SELECT and REMOVE
the same as BOX SELECT and BOX CUT respectively:

        Command: SET BOX SELECT
        Command: SELECT
                    .
                    .
        Command: REMOVE

  Usage notes:

o SET BOX SELECT makes commands, keys, or menu items for a editing linear
range work like like BOX commands. The setting also affects editing a
found range. Editing operations such as COPY, FILL, REMOVE, or
UPPERCASE use the start and end of a found range as the diagonally
opposite corners of a box. See help on Ranges And Boxes.

o If you use SET BOX SELECT, you cannot select a standard, linear range.
Typically you use SET BOX SELECT when you are frequently cutting and
pasting columns, such as in editing tables, and do not want to define
or redefine keys for box editing. In effect, the command redefines keys
     for you.

o Default is SET BOX NOSELECT, which lets you select and edit standard,
     linear ranges.

o SET BOX SELECT applies in all buffers. To save your setting for future
editing sessions, use SAVE ATTRIBUTES to create a section file or to
create or update a command file---see help on Attributes. However, in
general you should save SET BOX NOSELECT (the default setting) so you
can edit linear ranges as well as boxes.

o On DECwindows, you can toggle the setting as follows:

        1. Choose Global Attributes from the Customize menu.
        2. Click M1 on Set Box Select in the dialog box.
