Use UPDATE to apply a patch to the image file. The UPDATE command is a patch terminator. This command applies the previous patch to the image file and creates an output image file. If you fail to issue the UPDATE command, no output image file is created. During a single execution of PATCH, you can specify the UPDATE command more than once. The first UPDATE command specified creates a new output image file. Subsequent UPDATE commands (specified during that PATCH session) overwrite the output image file. That is, a new version of the output image file is not created. If a SET ECO command is issued, a subsequent UPDATE command automatically sets the ECO level specified. Format: UPDATE
