Library /sys$common/syshlp/helplib.hlb  —  CRTL  putchar
    Writes a single character to the standard output (stdout) and
    returns the character.

    Format

      #include  <stdio.h>

      int putchar  (int character);

1  –  Argument

 character

    An object of type int.

2  –  Description

    The putchar function is identical to fputc (character, stdout).

    Compiling with the __UNIX_PUTC macro defined enables an
    optimization that uses a faster, inlined version of this
    function.

3  –  Return Values

    character          Indicates success.
    EOF                Indicates output errors.
