Applies only to FDDI lines.  The option values are:

      ON   Participate in the Ring Purger election and,
           if elected, perform the Ring Purger function.
           This is the default.

      OFF  Do not participate in the Ring Purger election.

 This parameter is to allow operation when certain non-conforming
 stations are on your ring; except for that case it should be
 left ON for improved ring reliability.
