Exiting from the Notepad Editor

  Choose Exit from the File menu to exit from Notepad and
  save your edits.  If you have modified a file, the Notepad
  editor creates a new version of the file.  The new version has
  the same file name and file type as the original version, with
  the version number incremented by 1.
