  Editing a Recording

DECsound allows you to perform editing operations on your
recordings. In this lesson, you will learn about the cut-and-
paste operations by editing the recording that you created in
the Making and Playing a Recording tutorial topic.

The steps involved in a cut-and-paste operation are as
  follows:

  1. Choose Display Samples from the View menu to display
      the waveform.

  2. Select part of the recording. If you do not know how to do
this, click on theSelecting Part of a Recording topic
in the list of additional topics.

  3. Choose Cut from the Edit menu.
DECsound removes the selected part of the waveform
and inserts it in theclipboard. Click on the Play button
to play the recording-observe that part of the recording
      has been removed.

  4. Position the pointer where you want to insert the contents
      of the clipboard.

  5. Choose Paste from the Edit menu.

DECsound inserts the contents of the clipboard in the
recording. Click on the Play button to play the recording
and observe the result of the cut-and-paste operation.
