vtServer Configuration Advice

The formula for calculating the number of CPU cores in the host running VAX3 in a vtVAX virtual machine is:

(the total amount of active VAX CPU's * 2)

With the found OpenVMS configuration: (1 * 2) = 2

The formula for calculating the memory needed for a host running VAX3 in a vtVAX virtual machine is:

(the total amount of VAX memory * 2) + 1024 MB
With a minimum of 2048 MB

With the found OpenVMS configuration: (16 * 2) + 1024 = 2048 MB

Disclaimer:

The value of memory and number of CPUs is the minimum value needed
and also depends on the use of the emulator.
These values are often not sufficient on a heavily used emulator.
