The formula for calculating the number of CPU cores in the host running ALPHA3 is:

(the total amount of active Alpha CPU's * 1.5)

With the found OpenVMS configuration: (2 * 1.5) = 3

The formula for calculating the host memory needed for a host running ALPHA3 is:

(the total amount of Alpha memory * 1.25) + (total number of disks * 125) + (number of tapeunits * 100) + 1024 MB

With the found OpenVMS configuration: (10000 * 1.25) + (16 * 125) + (6 * 100) + 1024 = 16124 MB

Disclaimer:

The value of memory and number of CPUs is the minimum value needed
and also depends on the use of the emulator.
These values are often not sufficient on a heavily used emulator.
