The disk error limit is the value at which a disk is considered unreliable.

If the number of errors of a disk is greater than this value, a disk from the spare list is added to the shadow set.
Once the shadow copy/merge of this disk has been completed, the disk with errors will be removed from the shadow set.

These preventive actions ensures a reliable shadow set.
