Disk label
Every disk has a label. The label is used to identify the disk, therefore common labels are:
DATA, SYSTEM, DEVELOPMENT etc.

The label of a disk can changed, but it is not possible to give more than one disk the same label.

To change the label of a disk, enter the new label name and choose Change.

The label will be changed on the disk and also in the disk configuration file SMiC_data:disks.dat.

The "Logical volume name" of a disk is normaly directly derived from the label name.
The "Logical volume name" will not  change when changing the disk label.
It is possible to change the "Logical volume name" seperate.

When changing the "Logical volume name" the "old" name is not removed from the system.
It will be available until the next reboot or dismount for the disk.
