Use AVT tapemgr?
If OpenVMS is installed on an AVT (Advanced Virtualization Technologies) emulator, the AVT tape management tool is available. If this is installed, you can choose to use this for the backup.
Using tapemgr the entire tape handling can be done through the backup procedure. The backup procedure loads the correct tape and ensures the storage and keeping of the tapes. Intervention from outside is no longer necessary here.
Without tapemgr, tape will have to be changed, or the right tape will have to be loaded on another method.
