Messaging
The SMiC messaging utility makes it possible to control the notifications of deviations from the desired situation. There are over 63 messages available, and it is possible to select by mail address which message to receive at this address.
Also OpenVMS Opcom can be used to send and receive messages.
As a message receiver a SMiC user account can be selected, but also an other mail adres can be setup. Every mail adres must have a name, the SMiC account name, or a self choosen name. Names bust be unique.
It is possible to use a mail adres more then once. This can be off use when messages must be send in more then one language to the same mail adres.
Example: The Backup messages in English and the Queue messages in Dutch to one mail adres.
