/COMPRESS= {ON | OFF | AUTOMATIC}

    Optional. Default: For PPP interface: /COMPRESS=ON; for SLIP
    interface: /COMPRESS=OFF

    Valid for SLIP and PPP interfaces.

    Enables or disables TCP header compression.

    /COMPRESS=AUTOMATIC turns off compression unless the remote end
    begins to use it.
