Using the Shift Key

  You can use the Shift key to change the function of some
  Paint tools.  This action is called shift-clicking.  For example,
  to draw either a horizontal or vertical line using the Pencil:

  1.  Click MB1 on the Pencil.

  2.  Press the Shift key and press MB1.

  3.  Move the mouse vertically or horizontally, then release
      the Shift key.

  4.  Paint continues to draw either vertically or horizontally
      until you release MB1.

  The Shift key constrains the Pencil, Eraser, and Paintbrush
  tools to either horizontal or vertical strokes.

  The following table lists the tools affected by the shift key and
  the shift key constraints:

  Tool                         Effect

  Pencil                       Causes line to be horizontal or vertical.
  Eraser                       Causes direction erased to be horizon-
                               tal or vertical.
  Brush                        Causes brush stroke to be horizontal
                               or vertical.

  Line                         Causes line to be at an angle that is a
                               multiple of 45 degrees.

  Arc                          Causes shape to be a quarter circle.

  Rectangle                    Causes shape to be square.

  Ellipse                      Causes shape to be a circle.

  Polygon                      Causes angles to be multiples of 45
                               degrees.
