Searching for a Text String To search for a text string: 1. Choose the Next... menu item from the Search menu. A dialog box appears. 2. Type the text you want to locate. 3. Click on the Next button to initiate a search from the current position to the end of the file; click on the Previous button to search from the current position back to the beginning of the file. 4. Continue to search for occurrences of the text string by clicking on the Next or Previous button. By default, the Notepad editor treats uppercase and lowercase letters differently. Click on the Case Sensitive button from the Options menu to make searches disregard the difference between uppercase and lowercase occurrences of a letter.
